Crystals have been used for thousands of years even before Atlantean times. They possess amazing energy and can help you feel relaxed, balanced and once more able to cope with everyday life.

Crystal healing works on energy centres within the body called chakras which are like perfectly spinning vortexes when they are balanced. These can be knocked out of kilter with everyday living and this can make you feel off balance, not "quite right" but nothing specific - just not your usual self. Get them back to spinning perfectly and by removing other blocks in your energy system can make all the difference. This is done by dowsing, using a pendulum, which crystals are needed for each chakra and then placed on that energy centre. A clear quartz point or other appropriately dowsed crystal is then used to input the energy. After balancing the chakras there are other techniques which can be used to aid specific issues.

Crystals also have everyday uses around the home. Energise a room using clear quartz crystal points to form a grid. Citrine is called the "Merchants Stone". Keep a tumbled citrine stone in your purse to help keep the money flowing or in your till if you run a business. It also aids clear thinking so if anything difficult is coming up maybe wear citrine earrings. Rose quartz is a particularly good crystal for children. The Ancient Egyptians used rose quartz masks on their faces to keep their skin soft. It has a lovely soft loving energy. Amethyst in a hallway helps to prevent rows and tension in a home. It can also be useful by a computer to mop up the negative energy and so can black tourmaline. Haematite is a good grounding stone so if you are feeling "floaty" keep a piece in your pocket to help 'ground' yourself. Place a crystal of your choice in your bath water and absorb the energy that way.

Threading Clinic with Lynn

Threading is an ancient method of hair removal commonly practiced in Eastern countries like Egypt and India. It is becoming increasingly popular here in the west due to its many benefits.

This very neat and precise form of hair removal is most commonly used to shape eyebrows and remove unwanted facial hair. However, because of its versatility, threading can also be used to remove hair from other parts of the body provided they are flat. The area from the belly button to pubic bone or even toes can be treated using threading, but areas such as the bikini line are not suitable.

To perform the treatment a piece of 100% cotton is twisted and pulled along the area of unwanted hair, this traps the hair in a mini lasso, which when twisted, catches the hairs and lifts each hair directly out of its follicle. We use special cotton that is antibacterial.

In most cases the sensation experienced during the procedure is similar to that of waxing, tinting or plucking and will depend on the pain tolerance of the client concerned. The hairs usually show re-growth within 2 to 4 weeks (depending on a clients individual hair growth cycle).

Nothing but the thread comes into contact with the skin, thus making the risk of an irritation or reaction highly unlikely. In fact, people who have skin which is too sensitive for other methods or hair removal, or people who have experienced reactions to waxing, sugaring, creams or lasers find that they CAN experience threading without any problems.
